My First Upload/Translation Attempt

Here is one of the first fic's that I have wrote, it's a Silmarillion fic - excuses for spellings!

Reviews are welkom as always, please feel free to contact / friend myself, I will friend back as soon as I see,

NdS

"And it is told of Maglor that he could not endure the pain with which the Simaril tormented him; and he cast it at last into the Sea and thereafter he wandered ever upon the shore singing in pain and regret beside the waves."

He would never stay long in one place. Glimpses would be caught of him by the Sea, wandering alone in regret as the old tales would tell. But the next day Maglor would be gone without trace, or hint, or indication of his ever coming to Harlindon.

Save for once.

Her name was Silloth and she was one of the fairest living there. But she was solitary and silent, heeding not the attentions of those around her or the vies for her affections.

Instead she would sit or wander by the shore with only herself and the gulls for companionship which it was clear was the only kind she needed or wanted. The elves called her Erwen- the Maiden who is alone, and the name held.

It was one night in Ethuil. There had been celebration and laughter for the week of New Year was upon the Elves. The bright voices sounded loud and joyous down to the shore of the Sea and not even Silloth could resist drawing closer to the Great Hall where the celebrations were at hand.

The Teleri singers inside slowly became aware of a voice they had never yet heard before. It twined and wove itself through the singers and musicians, hanging there like a frosty cobweb that sparkled in the moonlight. All other songs in the Hall slowly faded, willing for the fair one to continue onwards.

And continue it did. Stronger then softer and as the elves looked around, they could see that none around them sang. The voice continued on and some of the youths began to creep silently about, trying to find the fair singer. And on it went, growing more wild and passionate as it continued, like the Sea itself during a storm, tossing foam flecked waves upon the shore and giving stray blasts of wind.

One boy named Khilthin, who was more quick of hearing than most suddenly drew back a curtain concealing the source of the song.

A gasp, a movement and the song was broken like the ice over water. That was the first, last and only time Silloth’s song would ever be heard in the Halls of the Elves of Harlindon.

The celebrations went on and yet the boy Khilthin sat alone, brooding over the Erwen’s flight. Passing silently from the Great Halls, he tried in vain to find some trace of where she'd gone. There were footprints upon the sand and as silently as he could contrive to be, he followed them. Kilthin was well away from the dwellings when he espied a flash of silver on the shore, caught by the moon.

It was Silloth, walking by the Sea she so loved. And she was again singing. But as the boy looked closer, he percieved that there was someone else standing with her whose voice mingled with hers. The music rang faint over the waves, the two voices becoming one, becoming stronger, becoming fairer.

Khilthin fled back to the celebrations, mindful and disquieted by what he had just seen. He had been told of the second son of Fëanor's unhappy fate when a child. And these tales he remembered now.

And that was the last that any elf of Lindon saw of Maglor and Silloth Erwen.

Erwen- the solitary maiden

Silloth- shining silver white flower /reference to hair/
